Definisi Zaraf
Zaraf (ظرف) secara bahasa adalah wadah. Di dalam kamus Al-wasith kata zaraf Secara istilah adalah “كل ما يستقرّ غيره فيه” artinya segala sesuatu yang ditetapkan atau ditempatkan sesuatu yang lain di dalamnya.
Pembagian Zaraf
Zaraf dalam bahasa Arab dibagi menjadi 2 macam zaraf zaman (ظرف الزمان) berarti zaraf waktu atau masa dan zaraf makan yang berarti zaraf tempat atau lokasi (ظرف المكان).
- Zaraf Zaman adalah isim zaman yang mansub dengan takdir في.
- Zaraf Makan adalah isim makan yang masub dengan takdir في.
- Semua zaraf mengandung في.
Zaraf Zaman (ظرف الزمان)
• اليوم = Hari
• الليلة = Malam
• غدوة = Di waktu pagi, pada pagi hari
• بكرة = Di waktu pagi, pagi hari
• سحرا = Waktu sahur
• غدا = Besok
• عتمة = Sisi gelap, kesuraman
• صباحا = Pagi
• مساء = Sore
• أبدا = Selamanya
• حينا = Ketika, manakala.
• أمدا = Pasok, lengkap
• Dan lain-lain.
Zaraf Makan (ظرف المكان)
• َأمام = Depan
• َخلف = Dibalik
• جانب = Disamping
• قُدّامَ = Di dadapan, sebelum
• وراء = Belakang
• فوق = Di atas (tidak terhubung)
• تحت = Dibawah
• عند = Disisi
• مع = Bersama, Berdampingan.
• إزاء = kebalikan, berhadapan
• تلقاء = Arah, pihak
• هنا = Disini
• Dan lain-lain.

Terjemahan
Ali: Assalamu’alaikum, Zaid….?
Zai: Wa’alaikumussalam,… Ali
Ali: Apa kabar?
Zai: Baik, kamu gimana?
Ali: Baik juga insyaAllah. Aku punya masalah sedikit ni bro.
Zai: Masalah gimana Ali…?, Coba bilang aku pasti punya solusi.
Ali: Aku punya tugas ni tentang syair, untuk presentasi di kelas besok.
Zai: Kamu punya waktu dikit dihitung dari sekarang, kapan masuk kelasnya?
Ali: Pagi,
Zai: Ayo ke perpustakaan sekarang buat nyelesaiin ni tugas atau kamu nyesel ntar…
Ali: Makasih, ayo bareng.

Ziyady: Seingat aku di depan rak kitab hadist
Ahmad: Ayo kita cek…?

Ziyady: Sama-sama
Terjemahan
Anak: Ibu ada liat tasku?
Ibuk: Tas yang mana nak…?
