Terdapat banyak cara orang mempresentasikan ide dan perasaannya terhadap keadaan dan realita pendidikan, salah satunya melalui gambar kartun. Gambar terkadang dapat mewakili ungkapan perasaan atau pikiran melebihi kata-kata. Ia hanya gambar tidak bersuara, tapi mengandung pesan dan ungkapan yang bisa dibaca oleh orang lain dengan melihatnya.
Berikut 20 gambar kartun tentang realita pendidikan dan penjelasannya.

Pada gambar ini terlihat 4 orang yang berdiri disebuah ruangan memandangi pemandangan luar melalui jendela.
Perumpamaan;
Jendela: Perspektif
Pemandangan: Dunia
Uang: Harta
Buku: Ilmu
Dinding: Kebodohan
Orang pertama dari kiri tidak berdiri di atas uang atau buku, alhasil dia hanya memandangi dinding karena jendela terlalu tinggi, orang pertama adalah perumpamaan orang yang tidak ada ilmu dan harta.
Orang kedua berdiri di atas buku dan uang dengan kadar yang seimbang dan bisa melihat pemandangan pas di tengah jendela.
Orang kedua adalah perumpamaan orang yang memiliki ilmu dan harta dalam proporsi yang seimbang, sehingga ia bisa melihat dunia melalui perspektif yang proporsional.
Orang ketiga berdiri di atas buku saja dan hanya dapat melihat sedikit pemandangan di luar jendela. Orang ketiga adalah perumpamaan orang yang memiliki ilmu saja dan tidak cukup finansial, memiliki ilmu saja dan tidak punya harta bermakna tidak bisa melihat dunia dalam berbagai segi dan pespektif.
Orang keempat berdiri diatas tumpukan uang yang terlalu tinggi sehingga ia tidak bisa melihat lagi pemandangan di luar jendela. Ini adalah perumpamaan orang yang berlimpah harta namun tidak berilmu sehingga membutakannya dalam melihat dunia dengan benar.

Pada gambar kedua ini ada 4 orang dengan isi kepala yang berbeda. Maksud dari gambar ini adalah semakin besar isi kepala semakin tidak banyak berbicara dan lebih banyak action, dan semakin kecil isi otak semakin banyak bacot dan pembicaraannya tidak bermanfaat sedikit pun.
Biasanya orang yang berpendidikan dan isi kepalanya dipenuhi dnegan ilmu yang benar tidak banyak bicara, namun jika ia berbicara akan sangat bermanfaat bagi yang mendengar.
Gambar ini mengingatkan saya pada pepatah Arab:
إذَا تَمَّ العَقْلُ قَلَّ الكَلَمُ
Jika telah sempurna akal, niscaya sedikitlah bicaranya”.
Pada gambar ketiga ini masih berkaitan dengan otak, dari gambar ini kita maknai saja telepon atau gadget sebagai teknologi dan otak sebagai ilmu/pendidikan.
Maksud dari gambar ini adalah, dulu teknologinya tidak secanggih sekarang, namun banyak orang dengan ilmu yang besar sehingga menemukan penemuan-penemuan besar dan bermanfaat bagi dunia. Sekarang semakin maju teknologi semakin banyak orang dengan isi kepala yang kecil bahkan moralnya juga nol.

Pada gambar ke-4 ini kotak di kiri berjudul knowledge: pengetahuan dengan berisi lingkaran-lingkaran kecil, pada kotak kedua berjudul experience: pengalaman dengan menghubungkan setiap lingkaran.
Maksudnya, pengalaman membuat pengetahuan saling berhubungan, kuat dan tidak terpisahkan, artinya pengalaman membuat pengetahuan menjadi bermanfaat dan dapat berfungsi dengan sebaiknya.

Gambar ke-5 ini masih berkaitan dengan pendidikan yang menggambarkan banyaknya pengangguran yang berasal dari sarjana-sarjana muda.
Para lulusan dari perguruan tinggi berebut pekerjaan di kolam yang sama padahal di dalam kolam hanya berisi satu ikam, ikan digambarkan sebagai pekerjaan.
